Just a heads up....
If you still want a great display, but can't afford an Apple 23" or even 20" Cinema display, Dell offers some great displays that are quite comparable and good with color reproduction. They offer a 24" wide screen display with 1900x1200 that's on sale now for $702. I hadn't looked at this option before, but I've been hearing a LOT of good things from fellow graphic designers who are using this setup... They say it's maybe a notch down from the Cinema displays, but miles ahead of anything else. And comparing $703 US for the 24" Dell to the 23" Cinema display at $1299, this might be an attractive option for those not wanting to (or able to) shell out $1299 US.
The nice thing about the Dells as well is that they have a warranty of 3 years that can be exapnded to 5 years for $50. So 5 years compared to Apple's 1 year warranty.
So I'm not saying that the Dells are better, but probably dollar for dollar, the Dells are a great way to go if you don't want to shell out $600 more. And maybe a bit safer because of the warranty. And yes, they work great with Macs and PCs, and have a DVI port.
